This web page details the Royal Alphabet Of Gracel, also known as the Gracilian or Gracelic alphabet. Is a 42 character alphabet based on the standard Roman alphabet (with some letters re-assigned to other sounds), complimented with new glyphs/characters borrowed from other alphabets to represent the sounds not currently atomically represented in the Roman Alphabet, which includes the splitting of the vowel sounds into separate characters.
The main purpose for this is spelling reform, that is, to make it easier to spell words phonetically.
As well as introducing a new alphabet, there is also a new writing style to show the words syllables, where capital letters are used to show the start of a syllable in a word, this solves the problems with words like :
Minute (time) : MinUte (of course the U is pronounced as an I (MinIt) in this word)
Minute (size) : MiNute
